Great Egret in the River of Grass

Pahayokee: A Plea for Life is a nature oratorio about the Everglades and is a fervent call to save one of the most unique environments on Earth. Pahayokee features the music of Jack Tamul and Operatic Baritone John Boehr coupled with piano by David Boehr and lyrical poetry and ambient recordings by Jim Miller in a way that is new-the music, singing, piano and recordings from the Glades are part of a unified whole-John Boehr sings with the sounds of the Glades and the frogs, birds, and insects sing with him. Jack Tamul's score puts the listener into the natural soundscape of the Everglades. Pahayokee:A Plea for Life, along with Jack and Jim's two other Everglades CDs, Gator Bellows in the Everglades and Voices of Everglades National Park, are pleas for all of us to join together, through the experience of art, to save our environment.
